Dear Africa Friends
We have just returned from a wonderful journey, that took us through South Africa’s scenic Eastern Cape. Having visited the Double Mouth Nature Reserve with its pristine beaches in the charming town of Morgan Bay, the endless expanses of the Camdeboo and Mountain Zebra National Parks, as well as the fabulous Big Five of the renowned Addo Elephant National Park – we realised, yet again, what a fantastic time it currently is to pack one’s suitcases for new adventures! With countless wide-open spaces and less overall visitors currently travelling in general, one can enjoy many of these destinations on an even more private and exclusive basis than ever before!
In our neighbouring country Namibia, all things travel are also slowly returning back to normal. Airlines such as Airlink, Qatar Airways and the Lufthansa Group have increased their schedules to Windhoek and/or Walvis Bay. Guests who recently travelled through Namibia, enthusiastically told us of their touching and individual travel encounters with the country’s land, nature, wildlife and warm-hearted people. Similar unique African Moments were enjoyed by guests who recently travelled through South Africa. Not only were they relieved to once again “spread their wings”, they were also deeply impressed by how well Covid protocols were upheld and yet how uncomplicated and carefree they could move around these countries, even in these interesting times.
Our Ministry of Tourism and representative tourism associations such as TBCSA and SATSA are doing everything possible to ensure that South Africa is soon put back onto travel “white-lists”. Depending on your country of origin, there are ever more countries within our southern and East African portfolio, that currently offer favourable travel conditions. The African Moments Team can gladly advise you in this regard!
We are happy to report, that the number of vaccinations in our region increases with each passing day, and travel safety protocols are generally of an exemplary standard. All of this gives us great hope for an end to rigid travel restrictions sooner rather than later! A vaccination passport or a Covid test will most likely accompany us on our travels for a while still – yet with that comes the freedom of being able to travel to destination(s) of our choice!
There is no better time than now to start planning your next exciting African Moments journey to experience Africa as never before! Numerous lodges currently offer special rates and the current favourable exchange rate make booking your trip even more attractive. Feel free to arrange a virtual call with us, or simply send us an email, so that we can inspire you with many of the recent locations we have discovered! We look forward to hearing from you!
Sending warm African greetings,
Nicole, Dennis & the African Moments team
