Uganda

Often referred to as the Pearl of Africa, green and gorgeous Uganda is an untouched wilderness. The only place in East Africa where you can see the Big Five, mountain gorillas, and chimpanzees without crossing a border. The country is a wild and untamed wonderland just begging to be explored. With a tapestry of landscapes, excellent wildlife watching and welcoming locals, Uganda packs a lot into one small country!

As with Rwanda, Uganda is famous for its mountain gorillas and a visit to Bwindi and/or Kibale National Parks in search of a gorilla family is an exceptional experience.

Uganda also offers East Africa’s best chimpanzee trekking, spectacular landscapes, as well as several fantastic safari parks.  It is most definitely an all-in-one destination with a rugged and authentic African charm all of its own.

If you’re ready for some action, you could consider mountain climbing in Rwenzori Mountain National Park.  This is one of Africa’s most beautiful mountain parks reaching an impressive 5,109 meters.  Or try the nature walks in Kibale, Kidepo or Murchison National Parks.  Sport fishing in the Nile near Murchison Falls is a thrill for anglers.

Uganda also offers various cultural treasures to be discovered.  We can tailor-make your journey to include local village tours, community walks or a visit to the coffee plantations on the slopes of Mount Elgon.  Meet local people and gain insights into their culture.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and home to an abundance of wildlife. This park is blessed with a variety of crater lakes, savannah plains, swamps and forest gorges.

Much more isolated, and therefore less visited, is Kidepo Valley National Park in the North East of Uganda. Not only will you see big game here, but the park also offers you the opportunity to see species such as cheetah, striped hyena, aardwolf, bat-eared fox and ostrich. The views in the park are magnificent and awe-inspiring!

Murchison Falls National Park is famous for its impressive waterfall in the Victoria Nile. It is the most powerful waterfall in the world and a must see!  The National Park is also well worth a visit, as it is home to some remarkable wildlife, such as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and aquatic bird species.

Any trip to Uganda would be incomplete without a visit to Lake Mburo National Park. This park has an enormous variety of breathtaking landscapes, from savannas to forest, lakes and swamps. It is an ideal environment to go on a night game drive or a spectacular boat trip on the lake. See the crocs, hippos and incredible birdlife from up close!

Finally, before you fly back home from Entebbe, you can round off your trip by relaxing on the shores of Lake Victoria.  A perfect opportunity to reflect on the many African Moments you would have enjoyed on your visit to this remarkable country!
